I was going to mention him, but I wasn't sure just how close to “historical accuracy” some of his work is. I daresay there were no Moon Goddesses involved in the Albigensian Crusade.
I must say however, that I find Clarke’s JSAMN to be the most impressive historical fantasy I have read. I doubt you’ll find better on this side of the rain.
If you don't mind some YA historical fantasy recommendations, then A Great And Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels and The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray are all set in late Victorian England.
Endymion Spring by Matthew Skelton is a MG historical fantasy set in 15th/16th century Germany.
