I've been told that one is either self-righteous or righteously indignant. Yet, I hear the term "self-righteous indignation" used all the time.
Those two terms describe the person. My focus is on the indignation. Righteous indignation describes a justifiable anger over some injustice. Self-righteous indignation describes, typically, an overreaction with moral and intellectual superiority thrown in; arrogance.
