I have had five or six people beta my entire manuscript and they did a fantastic job. Since, I have queried agents and had a couple of requests for partials based on the first five pages, but no full requests. I am starting to second-guess myself on whether the first few chapters are engaging enough. I don't need a line-by-line, just impressions and honest critique on story. I guess what it boils down to is that it is a large-ish scale fantasy and it needs some set up, but I don't know if I've been able to do that in the right way.
