I just noticed both those competitions have deadlines in early March - for the pimp it's actually an 'early' deadline on March 1.

So if you had a script ready that was good enough to submit, which of the two contests would you want to run in?

I don't know anything about scriptapalooza, so I'll comment on Script PIMP. If you place in script pimp you get a free subscription for one year which is a pretty neat system, I think, along with other prizes.

I didn't find the PIMP membership particularly useful. More of a low rent Inktip, who charge a lot less and get more results.
Contests generally are useful to gauge your percentile amongst the thousands of your peers, but that's all they're useful for. Except Nicholls and a few other very high profile ones (Zoetrope, Page, Sundance, Slamdance*, depending on who you ask).

*semi-finalist :D
