I accidentally stumbled upon this site when I was researching an agent. I decided to poke around and liked what I saw. This is all brand new for me, and I'm curious to see if being a member actually helps in my seemingly endless quest to publication.

I write suspesense with romanctic elements, and dabble in paranormal also. I love to read EVERYTHING, and it shows in my writing.

I'm not real familiar with navigating this site. Basically, I just wanted a place to connect with other writers and gain some helpful advice along the way. I'm playing the agent game right now, and have recieved lots of nibbels and no bites. I'm feeling a bit down and I'm sick of rejections. Anyone have any words of wisdom? Anyone feeling the same?

Run for your life!!! They're all crazy in here. Before you know it, you'll be writing haikus and staying logged in here all day every day. Just kidding. Poke all around. There really is an amazing wealth of knowledge and support here. At any given moment you may find dozens of writers feeling the same way you do. You can cry on their shoulders and they'll cheer with your successes. Very nice place and some friggin' brilliant writers...

Enjoy!

Yea! A sense of humor! Thank God. I tend to make a lot of jokes (that I'm usually the only one laughing at). Glad to see the atmosphere is relaxed.

Thanks for the welcomes and the advice!

Hiya storygirl! Welcome to the Cooler.

Humour? We have far too much of that already.

Just kidding. If there's one thing the folks around here like to do, that's laugh. Have a look about, you'll be comfortable zooming from forum to forum in no time flat.

I'm starting to get the hang of it. Well, fine, I'll admit it, most the forums I've found have been on accident, but it's worked out well. I've had a few 'oops' moments, and few times yelling at my computer, but that's nothing new for me. I think I'll enjoy it here.

Welcome from one "girl" to another!

I'm sure all of us here have moments of joy and moments of frustration. Ups and downs. That's the writing life.

We're all here to help if you have questions. :)

Speaking of editors and agents...I've got a few agents looking at some of my material right now and I'm going crazy (er...crazier) trying to bide my time until I get their responses. I've done this a time or two before, but somehow, it only gets worse. Does anyone have an helpful hints on how to pass the agonizing weeks until you hear back from them? My current pastimes of biting my nails and banging my head against a wall are becoming quite painful, so I'm open to suggestions.
