Quick question (and possibly a very stupid one) -

I feel like I should have found this on their websites, but I was probably not looking in the right sections :/ ...

Do international production companies have to abide by the terms of WGA registered and/or US Copyrighted works?

To my knowledge, if they are WGA Signatory...yes, but I know that mostly applies to within the US. Outside of the US, I could only imagine that they have their own type of thing similiar to the WGA and the US Copyright Office.

But I'm not certain what it might be called or if there is a specific thing on the WGA site that might deal with that.

I know the US copyright applies internationally and is protected by international agreements. I have no idea about WGA.

Countries that have signed reciepricol copyright treaties with the U.S. have agreed to recognize and abide by U.S. copyright laws and, therefore, the laws of these countries are also structured in a similar way.

W.G.A. registration gives you documentation of proof of the date of your copyright registration.
