Greetings,
I have utilized this forum on one previous occasion, and I can't tell you how great my beta has been. He's really made me a better writer, and I've incorporated almost all of his recommendations into my own writing.
As the New Year has come and gone, my resolution is to get represented this year. To forward that goal, I want to begin this process anew with another pair of eyes, seeing the improved story my first beta has worked through.
I'll provide a back-jacket summary for the novel. Do let me know if this is up your wheelhouse.
Thanks for your time. Hope to hear from you.

Sixteen-year-old Dashel learned one of life’s hardest lessons while lying next to his dead sister with a sword shoved through his gut: being a hero sucks. His fortunes seem to improve when a wizard finds him and heals him in exchange for a blood oath: Dashel pledges to serve the wizard for the rest of his life.
He learns all too late that the wizard has made this deal to 29 others, ones who possess certain aptitudes and character traits. The wizard is searching for an apprentice. He will subject them all to a series of life or death challenges.
His criteria for choosing is simple: he will pick the only one left alive when the dust settles.
Thanks for your time. Hope to hear from you.
