Over the past week, I've written 14,109 words. Plus 4 blog posts, three of which showcase my amazing talent for overstating things. :D

This is such a good idea for a thread! It provides friendly competition AND dinner and a show! (Well... if you consider "popcorn" to be dinner. )

Now Playing: Showdown! LostGirl vs. Haggis & wyntermoon! Insanity Ensues!

If you're a betting woman, put your money on me.. I can take those Mods.. they don't scare me. Wynter:e2moon: owes me brownies.. and :deadhorse Haggis is terrified I'll send him my sister again. :)

Oh and welcome to the loony bin!

Brownies schmounies. If you expect chocolately goodness because of a measly baby, you have to pop out three more just to catch up with my superior baby skillz. :tongue

But not nearly as fabulous. ;) (Good luck with the C-section, my first came out that way. Then four V-BACs. Yes. I am that awesome. Love you!)

Well no one is as fantabulous as you anyways! I desperately wanted to do a V-BAC but they wouldn't let me. *pout* 3ft had to be a C-section as his cord was wrapped around his throat not one, not two, but THREE times and because of that I have to have one with this li'l guy too. It's a bummer not to be able to hold the munchkin right away and then my husband gets to do everything first.

I wrote some words.

Not a lot.

Less than 100.

I'll do better next week.

Gimme the freakin' hat.

Those emergency C's are rough. I had one with # 8. It almost felt like I didn't give birth because it was so surreal. I had to see her to know it had happened. Praying for you and the little one.

Well, less than 100 is still words. Oh, sure, not a lot of words. Not as many words as the woman about to give BIRTH managed, but still, words. Not as many as, well, almost everyone else managed (by a long shot), but it's still forward progress. And, hey! It's more than Mary! (Oh, sure, she's not here for writing, she's here for research, but still, I'll throw the little dog a bone. A very little bone...)

BUT, checking in is, as we all know, most of the battle, and you did write and check in, albeit likely last, so, well done!
:Clap::Clap::Clap:

Not assigning the Chapeau just yet...we may have more stragglers, after all...

Oh, please, Jeanne. The woman uses epidurals. What a wimp. :D

Hey, I resemble that remark. And my letters requesting info are probably more than 100 words. So there.

Barbecued Haggis, that's probably a delicacy in some country. I personally wouldn't eat it -- not knowing where that puppy's been but I'm sure someone somewhere would... maybe. :D
I'll have a Haggis to go, extra sauce. Oh, look...it comes in its own paper bag...because this week's winner of the Chapeau of Shame is indeed our own Haggie-Poo. Wear it well.

Reporting Challenge, w/o 1-18 thru 1-24

Speaking of next week...

Well, really the week after this one, since WhinerGirl begged me to do her a solid and not assign this over the week she's popping out Haggis, Junior...

We're going to revive the longstanding Humor Forum "make your update more interesting" challenge. Sometimes we have you write it in verse, sometimes make it a love letter, sometimes enter it like you're a character in a specific movie, and so on. Usually we suggest you make it funny, but that's not a requirement (the challenges just usually work out to be funny, at least in execution).

THIS time, since next week's update will just precede my birthday (Jan. 25, for those keeping score at home), I'm challenging you all to write your update in the form of a personals ad trying to find the most elaborate yet totally useless gift possible on Craigslist or similar. (Lemme know if you need an example. For those old-timers here, I know you know what to do. ;))

Everyone who plays will, of course, receive extra special smileys, and the winner/s (aka, those I like the best) will receive even more smileys. Buckets of smileys. Cascades of smileys. And so on.

We'll update like regular this week, but for activity during the w/o Jan. 18, aka for update dates Jan 22-Jan 24, it's the update challenge.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's creativity. (And probably learning far too much about how everyone's minds work, too.)

**SNIP**

My baby will NOT look like a little rat dog with rabies, thank you very much.

And I'm totally stoked about writing an ad about useless gifts.. I have just the one.. and I'm calling it "HAGGIS" It doesn't get more useless than that :e2tongue:
