And just what are you implying? :wag:

You're implying that there's an implication. Not only that, but you've got your tongue sticking out.

Here. I have this railroad tie sitting here in the middle of a Michigan January that's just waiting for somebody to taste it. Go ahead. Use that tongue for some constructive purpose. :)

Ummm, I realize I've been missing in action, but I didn't realize I was missing THE action.

I chose this festive time of year to hop creatively from sinus infection to flu with a sidestep in the direction of pneumonia. I'm not the sickly type, so I wasn't prepared for all the activity. I've come to appreciate the simple act of breathing.

In the two days this week when I've been lucid (some say that's more than when I'm healthy), I did 1,087 words.

My resolution for the New Year is to get a flu shot. Because I HATE life lessons.

BajaffeGirl gets words in while at death's door? I hope this is a lesson for the REST of you. Well done, my gal from the Sugar Tit* area...well done.
:Clap::Clap::Clap:

And here's the thread angel to watch over you while you cough and wheeze your way back to the land of the at least sort of healthy.

Doodle! Take care of yourself, woman! :Hug2:

I've been out of the loop for too long, what are you working on that you show up the rest of us so badly?

Thread angel much appreciated, great leader. Taking one more day off tomorrow, then it's back to the gruntstone whether I like it or not.

*I know. It's almost too easy, isn't it? They've torn down the general store that had the name on it, BUT I have pictures and I'm not afraid to use them.

Thanks--I know you've had your share of fun around the house this wynter, too. (OMG, I think the pun is hysterically funny. I need more medication.)

For some reason, I've been feeling the need to get my Bombeck entry in shape. Wonder why that is. . .

I need to stop quitting coffee over and over. The fog and headache have lifted and I find myself 3 pages deep in posts.

You know you've gone too far when quadruple shot lattes are the standard any your eyebrows twitch independently of each other.

My characters suffered with me and refused to play all week, so I've been editing and working on my non-fic. It's amazing, but I think a headache helps with pontification.

Anyway, I won't sieze any sparklies this week, but I can report 1,500 words of forward progress. At least there is no Chapeau of Shame for me.

*Whispers to bettielee* They told you there were sparklies awarded but no one mentioned the vile bag bestowed upon tardy posters, did they?

It's only too much caffeine if you stop, my lad. Otherwise, it's just what keeps you going. Editing is good, working on the nonfic is good, and that's a nice word count for someone who's having issues with some of nature's best stuff (caffeine, sugar, chocolate, fat and alcohol...does a writer need anything else?). Well done!

First of all... quitting coffee? What is this of which you speak? Madness?

and 2nd paragraph:

**sharp intake of breath**

gasp!
no!

**puts notes on Fridays in Calendar.... "do not show up late to WPR"**

Okay, Jeanne. Here I is.

Here's my report.

Srsly.

I've done hundred of words.

True, you're on time, Haggie-Poo, so no Chapeau of Shame (Note for Quinn AND Bettielee: Did so mention it, it's there, I just sort of glossed it over is all...because I don't WANT to give it out, it's just that some of you MAKE me from time to time...). And, because I know how to read your particular posts, 100 words is still something much more than nothing. Sure, it's close TO nothing, but it is NOT nothing, and so, you receive a reasonable good enough for a week that was, we'll be kind, full of many non-writerly things to do.

I play with my parents for a weekend and the new thread is three pages long on day 4 of the first report series????????? What gives?

Okay. It's Monday. My five kids went back to school. My teenager is bored with his book and the fact that school won't start until Wednesday when he jumpstarts with the exam cancelled before Christmas.
Blog:
Monopoly Rules
2010 Resolutions
and Ten Reasons Why I'm Catholic

I wrote a load of junk and published none of it. It just didn't pop or have that extra that made me eager to share.

It's also been hard to find writing time that didn't look like I was pulling away from the family so I haven't put in the BIC time necessary.

Catholicmom ran a piece Wanting Awe that people liked. That's it, starting 2010 with the chapeau of shame and writer's block. ew.

We talk a lot. What can I say? But, late or not, 3 good blogs, other writing (scrapped writing still counts as writing), and a live piece is good, Wonder Woman. You may indeed be getting the FIRST Chapeau of Shame of 2010, but you still get a hearty well done as well.
:Clap::Clap::Clap:

Put on zee chapeau, use it to have the space needed to get over the little writer's hump. (What hump?*)

*Extra smileys to who tells me what movie that's from, with, of course, description of scene and character speaking.

And now it's time for the rest of the first rewards of the new decade! (Many thanks to SherryTex for being sure to come in late so we got to christen the 2010 Chapeau...I burned the 2009 one -- too many Haggie cooties.)

Winning this week's word count award with a nice, big 5,140 is bettielee! Nice way for the new girl to represent!
:Jump::Jump::Jump:

I am sadness itself that we had no submissions at all this week. However, in fairness, submitting much of anything in the last 2 weeks of the year is always a) hard and b) potentially going to be lost in a frightening horror of overflow, be it in inbox or mailbox.

But there is no excuse for THIS week...

Who will win next week's awards? Will it be...YOU? :e2steer:

Almost too easy. Young Frankenstein. Eyegor has picked up Dr Frankenshteen at the train station. Dr F makes some remark about E's hump, which has moved from one shoulder to the other. E replies: what hump?

Does it break the rules if I post late.

I wrote zip, zero, nada this weekend. Stared at my computer for days, had nothing :(

One accomplishment-Beta read for a friend. She saved me from a completely lost weekend devoid of any literary accomplishments at all.

I'll do better this weekend or I'll blame bettielee for my failings.

Nah, you just get your own Chapeau of Shame. And beta reading is good, it's still part of the whole process, so better late than never and well done for posting!
:Clap::Clap::Clap:

Enjoy wearing our Backup Chapeau. It should help with the motivation.
