Hellooo,

I've been skulking around the forums here for a few days and decided it was probably time to get an account, yay! My name is Erika, I'm pretty much obsessed with reading and writing, and have been for as long as I can remember (then again, I'm very forgetful, so that statement might not actually carry much weight...). I'm fourteen, and aside from entering a few short story contests and starting an art zine with two of my friends, I've never really finished anything!

I love fiction of any kind, but am currently fixated with urban fantasy. I can't wait to look around and try to improve my writing as a whole!

Welcome to the Cooler.

Pick a story and finish it through to the end. It doesn't really matter if plot points don't make sense, or if you slip from past tense to present - or any of the multitude of other problems which can crop up in a first draft... Just get the story down on paper. Or on screen.

You should be carefull of your phrasing around here. I believe some of them over in the horror section actually do have the heart and soul of a kid. No doubt in a jar, sitting right there next to their monitors.

Welcome Erika. I was once your age - back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Ah, those were the good old days when gas was 5 cents a gallon; you went to the Saturday afternoon matinee with 10 cents in your pocket, bought your ticket, a bag of popcorn, and still had enough left over for a couple of jawbreakers; and practically every magazine on the market purchased 2 or 3 short stories per issue from aspiring writers.
