Wasn't a huge fan of the first movie, thought it was pretty bog standard as far as superhero movies go. But this trailer does look promising.

Awesome! Kinda wish they show where this bad guy comes from with as much know how on building robotic suits (went to same school as Tony?) Guess I'll have to watch to find out.
I think there's a line in there where the villain says something about Stark coming from a "Family of thieves." I'm guessing (speculating earrrrrly) that it's going to be related somehow to Stark Industries having pilfered some technology and innovations from others here & there through the years. Given that they were shown as selling weapons to the bad guys in the first flick, it wouldn't be surprising to find that some of the basis of their tech was built / stolen by some less than savory characters.
Okay, I'm kinda excited about this. Had NO idea there was a sequel planned and coming out. Kind of dove-tails right into what I just finished and have lined up. Hope the storyline plays out well.

But...the first film was about an eeeevil guy making his own Iron Man. They couldn't come up with anything better than making an eeeevil guy making his own Iron Men?
The thing is that's many of Iron Man's primary villains. Guys with their own power-suits. Or a dragon called Fing Fang Foom and God knows that wouldn't work on the big screen. The world established in Iron man is a bit more grounded than in some other Marvel properties, so there are only so many directions to go in. Having him battle some X-Men style mutants with genuine powers could come off strange. It's going to be interesting to see how they try to tie in some of the more fantastic elements when the time comes to bring Thor into the mix for the Avengers flick.

Took my son to see it Friday night.
I was pretty happy with it. Not as good as the first, but darn close imo. The Black Widow was well done, though Scarlett would not have been my choice for the role. Mickey Rourke was very good, too.
