So after finishing Nanowrimo for the first time this November (after an unsuccessful stint last year) I have decided to be very, very serious about this writing lark. 
I have a big novel on the go which I started last year and is about halfway done, a smattering of short stories, and of course a finished Nanowrimo novel I'm not sure what to do with.
My literary hero would be the Japanese author Yukio Mishima, a man who was unbelievably committed to writing and full of passion for it; it was like his very soul depended on it. In fact, when he ran out of things to write about, he completed his final tetralogy and tried to launch a military coup, winding up committing harakiri when it failed (but that's another story!).
I'm 21, at university, so I tend to find myself writing about my experiences right now. I write SF a lot, but I also write about youth in modern times and what it feels like to be this generation growing up right now, emerging into the kind of technology-saturated world William Gibson first envisioned in the 80s.
But I've got a long way to go, so I'm here to learn and perfect the fine art of writing from you kind people!
