Hello all,
I recently started a new novel and I'm looking for a beta that has the patience of a God or a Goddess. I would normally go to a close friend or a family member for this, but as they tend to "love" everything I write, I have come to believe that they can't be trusted.
Because I tend to type faster than I think, I need a beta with an eagle-eye for grammar, punctuation and flow, as well as someone that will not soften their opinion of my work, but deliver it with the professionalism of a teacher or an instructor. The last thing I'm looking for is not a fly by night beta, but someone that has been at this for a while, and when they take on a project, their intent is to stick in there for the long haul or through the life of the project.
I know I could easily post my work to the SWY Forum and get loads of feedback, but I prefer to have one person giving me feedback at a time. I find that much easier to manage.
Also, please keep in mind that this is a first draft, so if you are a beta that prefers well-edited near final drafts, I'm not at the right stage for you.
