Question about snail mail...

So I don't live in the States. But I'm allowed to query US agents, right?

Anyway, I plan to e-query them. But I'm afraid that maybe (this is going to sound a little pretentious) one of them will ask for a partial through hard copy. >>"

How am I supposed to send that without having it arrive a month later? (Plus, it's going to be expensive, expensive, EXPENSIVE.) Should I mention in the query that I don't live in the States?

Your contact information should give them that information so there isn't really any reason to mention it. I've see agents say they would accept e-submissions from authors outside the US so if the subject comes up, I'd ask. In those circumstances, there is a good chance they will.

In my experience snail mailed hard copies sent to US agents took about 5-7 days to arrive from the UK. I asked for printed matter rate at my post office which was cheaper than letter rate airmail

If they want snail mail, you send snail mail. How long it takes depends on how you send it.

Expensive? I can't think of a business in the world as cheap to start as writing. There are many legitimate complaints about the writing business, but cost of mailing something should not be one of them. If you have any confidence at all in you talent, how can you possibly complain about a few bucks postage?

Many, if not most, agents who accept e-queries also ask for the fulls by email. I know everyone in my agency does.

Wow that's good. I sent a partial via registered mail to the US and it took about 2 weeks... I think it got lost on the way at one point!

Very nerve-wracking, but if I get a partial request, I'm happy to spend the few extra bucks!
