A question to ask an agent?

So, I haven't been querying my MS, but when I do, I would like to tell the agent that my story could be the first in a series (that is if I get accepted). How would I phrase that exactly? "Dear Agent:................................Also, Beyond Echo could make a first book in a series?"

I read somewhere that you can say it has series potential.

EX:

Beyond Echo is a standalone with series potential.

Or something like that. ^^

Yes, the way he put it. A standalone with series potential. Also a word that applies if you've written both is 'tandem'.
