Never too old to start

Stumbled upon this site today and it reignited my passion to finally write that first novel. My 6th grade teacher pushed my writing and always told me I had what it takes. Well, at age 41, father of 3, and among the many currently layed off from their normal careers - I am finally giving it a shot.

I look forward to utilizing the fantastic information available and gleaning insights/useful criticism from the forums and the many accomplished members.

Glad you're giving your passion a shot. You're right - you are never to old to start. I'm older than dirt, have grandchildren, and am determined to place my (book)mark on the writing world.

I figure I finally have enough experience in life to write. =)

OLD? I was expecting to come into this thread and read that you were 90 or something. But you're right - you are never to old to start, and well, 41, that is pretty old

I'm 53 and I only came here a year or two ago, only then got serious about writing my novel after a lifetime of false starts. FINALLY got the first draft of one done. Still needs lots more rewrite and editing but this site helped me tremendously.
