Why not?
My journey to this genre started with MSN conversations with tt42. Bad sex, good sex, how important it is, how people deny that, why they put up with bad sex, what makes sex good...even one night spent searching for hot scenes on YouTube, resulting in
this thread here.
Seriously - watch those links. They're
gold when it comes to teaching you how important the details are.
So in a way I write erotica because there's so much bad shit out there and I want people to realise they don't have to put up with second best in bed or on the page.
To quote the book I'm reading at the moment:
There is no way people would go to the lengths they do to get sex if it was really this bad.
People deserve the best. That's what I aim to give them. I just love sex. Doing it (if I can remember that far back), writing about it...
And it's far more influential than people give it credit for. People live and die for sex, lust, love, you name it. I've always said it cements a relationship and the bedroom is the microcosm of the entire relationship. You can tell a lot about what a person's truly like from the way they are in bed.
Not to name names but one of my exes was selfish as hell in the bedroom - and I began to see he was like that with his time, his money, his effort, his willingness to meet me halfway...even insisting I went to his house so he didn't have to travel to mine.
So yeah. Anyone who says 'sex isn't that important' is talking out of the hole in their arse, rather than properly using the one round the front.
Whoa. Sorry. Pet subject of mine. Wind me up and watch me go!
When it comes to 'backlash', I don't experience that. Probably because I'm so "Yeah, so fucking what?" about it. If anyone doesn't like what I write, they can bite me. I can't stand my family and as for friends, well, if someone disses something that dear to me, they immediately become
not my friend. No great loss.
As for menage? Personal pronouns are a
bitch, man.
