If one of them was born a Maori tribeswoman around 300 B.C. her name probably wouldn't be Tiffany. If you know their country of origin and era of birth you can figure out what names would have been appropriate, to give you a start.

That's kinda hard to answer. I mean, the names could virtually be anything. If they're hundreds of years old, male and from say, Egypt, it could be Amun. If they were born in 1993, and female from America, they could have the name Mia. It's that random. The possibilities are pretty close to, if not limitless.

What about Ingram? It is a pre-medeival Nordic surname composed of part Germanic god (modernly known as Freyr), and part Raven, or also interpreted as "Angel Raven," or "Dark Angel." For reference, Freyr is the god of agriculture, weather, and fertility. In Nordic mythology, ravens were representative of the god Odin, and also of war and death, wisdom and ferocity.

Some variations in English include Engelramus, which means "pure as an angel" (not quite the same), Ingeram, Ingelham, and the very rare Ingyon.

Do some research on ancient, even dead, languages. Find one that you appeals to your particular tastes. And then find a translation resource associated with that language. There'll be names by the gazillion in there for you.

Vampire naming might include titles and / or nicknames which they pick up over the centuries. If someone has a long and complex name, not too unusual in any regard for some cultures, others would provide them with easier names to say. Not that different from humans then...

Like Death Wiz said, I'd would do some research depending on how historic you want to be.

1700 years you say? Well neither Poland or Russia existed. Roman was still a super power and you have fun cultures like Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Huns, and Mongols oh my!

That is if they still use their original name. I would think they would have modernized it somewhat.

yeah they'd have to modernize their names. I was just looking for old names and then giving them a new name.. tho older vampires still know them by the orginal names.. make sense?
