Okay, well I'm trying to rewrite my novel and I have been thinking lately that I would put in a prologue or a preface because I find that it might be necessary for this story. But soon after I decided to do this, I started asking myself this question. (Warning, it may sound totally stupid, so don't laugh.)

What is the difference between a prologue and a preface?

Are they the same thing or totally different? If so, can you please explain to me how this is so? I would really appreciate this, so thank-you all so much for the help.

A preface is voiced directly by the author as an introduction to a work.

A prologue is written in narrative.

At least that's how I understand the difference.

Thank-you for your help, The Lonely One.

And sorry, Big Words, I didn't see that there. But thank-you so much for your help.

S'okay, I didn't see it either, and your question interested me. I will now go over and resurrect the other thread, even if it is six days old. Cuz I can. ;-)
