Picture books?

All right, I was wondering if one would have to send a query for a picture book for children. Like for those 10,000 word count stories.

You may want to read the stickies in the Writing for Kids forum. There's lots of information there about picture books.

Most publishers want full manuscripts submitted for picture books, but you should always, always, always read the guidelines.

And you meant 1,000 words, not 10,000 words, right?

Go to query letter hell forum and find the tab to search the forum. Type in picture book. Search through the threads that pop up and you'll find a few picture books and their queries.

Picture books are 1,000 words. Chapter books are 10,000 words. Big difference between the two.

But query letter hell has a few chapter books as well. Go searching.
