Time for a new thread.

November is already upon us, and another year is drawing to a close. Alas, where does the time go?

Okay boys and girls, let's kick this month off right. I know that a some of you are working on NaNo, so we should see a lot of post this month.

Good luck and keep writing!

Haha. Nefarious. That alone makes me want to write more. Anyway, I haven't done crap in the past week (obviously) because I've been too busy to even THINK about writing (or editing for that matter), but I did finalize my query letter and synopsis. I'm pretty happy with both. They probably aren't 100%, but I'd give them an A, maybe an A+. :tongue

Way to go Steampunk! I have a feeling we're going to have a lot of big word counts this month!

Just an FYI. If anyone is interested, I just posted the 2nd, (or is it 3rd?), draft of chapter one for Storm Rising on M/T/S SYW.

Plannning chapter 3 now.

Thanks!

(My original thought was "Nebulous". Just didn't have the "zing".)

Watch it. I'm pretty sure that's what I called it last year.

Over 1400 so far today, not sure if they'll make it into the WIP. Just getting to know my new characters and what makes them tick. So far it's a little disturbing, which makes me happy.

OOPS! :D You'll have to forgive me, I was absent last year.

Good going! Haven't written anything today, at least on the WIP. Trying to figure out how to start chapter 3. Good luck on yours. (Disturbing is good.)

I think I wrote about 3,000 words today. I'm trying to finish my first draft before Crime Bake, which is November 13-15. I'm at about 63k right now. I'd like it to be about 75 to 80k in the first draft. Let's see, 11 days to write 12 to 15k. Never wrote that fast before, but here's to trying.

Wait, I just had to see this for myself. I was thinking earlier that someone needed to go fetch Hettie into November, but not only did she find her own way, she wrote something! Woo hoo! :)

Hi... I wrote today... 503 words... AND, I am not done yet! WOOHOO!!!

Hope everyone is well!

WTG Hettie! :hooray:

Right now I'm stalled out. Waiting for either the OCME or my source at the NYPD to get back to me. Need some details on the medical examiners office in NYC. Have my MC going down there, and the details have to be right.

Ken, the WIP I am avoiding now is set in the Keys... in which I am not right now. I am beginning to think that I need to wait until I go back... but I might just leave out the details and get the meat ready? Not sure... went back to my first WIP which I abandoned years ago! It needed a break from me. I think that I can make it better now that we don't hate each other anymore!

Heh, and here I was going to call it Nutty November if nobody had posted yet. I still maintain that's an accurate descriptor!

NaNo wordcounts...I've been posting in the NaNo thread, but I'll bring 'em over here too. 5034 yesterday and (so far) 1840 today, with a bit more to do to hit goal today.

and...?

C'mon, guys, I'm not the only one writing in November, am I? Or I'll take my marbles over to the NaNo threads and stay there.

(That'd be 3864 of them today.)

AnnieColleen, you are AMAZING! I am seriously, seriously impressed. I'm working still at the moment, but I'll give a count before I go to bed.

I used to have problems meeting writing deadlines. Not any more. I finally figured out that I am basically a compulsive person by nature. Now what I do is play at the research for ages and get a basic sketch of what I want to write. Then I buy four pounds of good coffee, a carton of smokes, and I lock myself away from the world and write maniacally for several weeks.

By following this method I have now written six books, and have one hell of a smoker's cough.

Alrighty I said I'd give an update and here it is. I was hoping said update would be: "Finished chapter 12 I'm awesome."

I cut probably only about 300 words, but I'm at a scene that I'm really not very happy with, and it's the big climax so that's not a good thing. It did hit me right, though, while I was editing, so I went back and rewrote part of it a couple of times (changed my mind some on one bit) so I had to go back through and change some things around after that. I'm still not finished with said scene, but I'm through most of the point that I found annoying. I think I was too pulled out from the character's perspective, so I'm putting some of that back in to add some tension to it. Well, hopefully add some tension. ;)

Anyway, just two classes tomorrow, so with luck all will go well and I'll have plenty of time to work on this, especially since I didn't touch it last week.

Yep, words is words, if they keep you moving forward.

Kaitie, stubborn is more like it. And sleep-deprived... After NaNo I'm going to have to find a balance in the burrahobbit style of writing, though (lots and none at all). And I'm not tracking the Infernal Editor's wordcount... but, again, words is words and so on.
