Anyone besides me excited about the new Michael Jackson movie? I wanna see it soooo bad, but I might not get to within the short two week period that it's airing. Hmm....we should convince them to make it nationwide, like they did with Paranormal Activity.

If it makes enough money, I don't doubt they'll 'then' decide to extend its 'limited' engagement.

I saw it, and thought it was pretty awesome. Very interesting, and a lot of fun to watch. It was great to hear what his dancers had to say, because most of them grew up idolizing him, since he is one of the greatest dancers who ever lived. They were thrilled to be working with him. The only downside was that he sometimes did not sing the songs the whole way through. He was trying to save his voice for the concerts. This film was not intended to be the final product, the concert was, so some of the performances are incomplete because they are rehearsals.

As MJ was such a mystery, it was fascinating to see what he was like while he was working. He came across as very professional, respectful, and serious about his work. Also, it was inspiring to see him perform the old songs. In recent years, looking at him almost made me want to cry, because he'd destroyed his face and become a shadow of his former self. But seeing him perform Billy Jean, you could see some of the magic still there.

It's such a shame. I would have loved to see this concert live.

It was great to see he still could bring his A-game when he wanted to.

It was a great documentary. Sort of helps put him into perspective and how misunderstood he was. Too bad we never saw the finished product, it looked like it would've been one of those iconic shows that people would've talked about for years afterwards.

What's sad is that despite all of his personal issues, I feel sad for not seeing past the media hoopla and appreciated him for those 15 odd years where he got bogged down. I mean...I've always appreciated his music up to 1995-ish. After that, I feel like we would've seen a lot more of that greatness if he hadn't been pigeon-holed so much. It's like we lost a whole era of music because of it.

But...even though he looked healthy and strong on those rehearsals, when they showed clips of him dancing in his "Beat It" days...you could still see he lost a step or two.

I loved the movie. Although, I have to be honest I was more of a Prince fan than MJ fan growing up, but loved MJ's music just as much as Prince. So you could say I loved Michael's music, but loved Prince's wild and crazy stage presence more.

The movie gave a lot of insight into Michael and made it so you rather connected with him, like you were there with him. He wasn't a prima donna type star, and if he was they didn't show those moments. Also, if he was, people on his team would have reacted to him differently. The support team appeared to feel very free to express themselves to him.

If the show would have ever come to be, it would have been amazing.

I remember me and my friend spending an entire night on you tube watching mj dancing clips. After, we started discussing the possibility of him doing another concert. This was probably march or so of this year. After we found out about the tour we became thrilled. Seeing the movie made me see exactly what everyone will now miss out on. It was his last tour, and it would have been amazing. The movie definately points out the hard-working, committed and focused nature of MJ while he is working. Everything had to be perfect. You could see it all came to him so naturally.

I completely agree. As eccentric as he was, he didn't act like a prima donna at all. No matter how this film was cut, you could see that he just didn't have that in him. It was a treat to see him in the circle holding hands with all of them at the end. As much as they all admired him, you could see that he really made them feel like part of the team, and that he valued all of them.

I never really got into Michael Jackson, but all my life I had heard all sorts of things about him and wanted to know more. Even though I haven't seen the movie, I think he was a great guy who was simply misunderstood.

Yeah, I agree he was misunderstood and used and abused too. Somehow he seemed to never lose his kind and gentle nature though...pretty amazing. I loved This Is It and I hope to see it again on the big screen.
