Hello.

I've been lurking around AW for quite some time now, checking in once a week or so, and trying to absorb all of the good writing advice. I thought it was time I posted something. I've been working on a MG novel, currently in the middle of the edit (I've also rough drafted a few adult novels, all currently trunked).

Thanks for keeping me entertained and answering my questions, even if you didn't know you were. :)

Thank you for the welcomes!

Yes, I've browsed through the SYW forum, and that was a big reason I decided to actually open an account. Although I've been writing as a hobby for years, I have no formal fiction writing background, and have never allowed anyone to read my fiction before (something my wife doesn't appreciate :)), but it is time for some feedback from experienced writers.

I did post the first chapter of my mg story in SYW, if anyone has time to give it a once over, I could really use the critique (line-by-line or just general impression). I'm going to find a little more time to browse AW and will certainly try to return the favor.

Good luck on your WIP, you're sure to get lots of help over in the Share Your Work, a lot of good peeps over there.

A must read thread is the newbie guide, which is in a sticky thread at the top of the Newbie Forum. Also check out Cathy_C's thread, which is also stickied at the top of the Newbie forum, Next on our tour, if you'll look to the left, you'll notice... to find out about the various buttons and icons, and also about rep points, how to PM (private message) members, custom avatars and a whole host of other useful stuff,

If you have any problems you can PM (private message) me and I'll see if I can help, or you can post in the Super-Dooper Newbie 'Ask the Mod' thread at the top of the newbie forum.

And for fun, we have the terrific Newbie Question of the Day thread. Pop in and have a go at answering a few of the really easy questions (the link is in the sig line below). They are easy. Yep, they are. And so much fun.

Oh, and do you like double choc-chip cookies? :D
