Aside from the hilarious "Bimbos of the Death Sun" and "Murder At the ABA." are there any other murder mysteries set at conventions? I seem to recall at least one more, but I can't pull it up out of my archive. BTW, of the several TV-based portrayals of conventions, one of the best was the 'Love & Curses' episode titled 'Beyond the Beyond.'

Sorry, I wasn't sure of the author earlier. Midnight Louie is one of the main characters in a series by Carole Nelson Douglas. He's a black cat. Cat in a Kiwi Con is set in a SF/F convention in Las Vegas.

I haven't read the whole series, but I've enjoyed the books I've read. This series is different from the "Cat Who..." series by Lilian Jackson Braun in that there are scenes from Midnight Louie's perspective. He can't talk, but he's intelligent. IIRC, he had a line somewhere commenting about how he didn't like ants because they clog up his sinuses.
Wasn't there a serial killer's convention in an early issue of the Sandman comic? I can't remember which issue, but I'm sure it was pre-Vertigo. There was also a short story in an old pulp about a boy meeting an alien girl (extraterrestrial, not foreign) at a SF convention, but my memory is rather vague on the contents of the story.
