No idea. I usually read about three books a week, so whatever that ends up being over the course of a year.

When I record how many books I read, I tend to read more. It's like keeping pace with myself or something.

50 is a pretty good guess. Factor in that I read here on the internet and have written two books in the last year, it's not too bad. I read alot more when I wasn't writing. Probably three a week too.

Well, I'm an elementary school teacher, so I read more picture books and MG novels than I can really count, but other than that, I probably average two a month or so.

So, 24? I'm really, really busy, though, and don't have tons of time to devote. I wish I had more!

I'd say at least a hundred. I certainly buy more than 100 a year, and re-read my favorites, so it could be higher. But I never really bother to count. Sometimes I'll spend a weekend reading book after book, sometimes I'll go a couple of weeks without picking one up.

The thing that's impacted my reading time the most has been getting back into writing - the time I spend avoiding writing and the time I spend actually writing eat up a lot of reading time. :)

I will point out that many of the books I read are MG and YA novels, because those are what I write.

I work a lot, and play a lot, and write a lot (though I need to write a lot more), and read a lot. But I'm an insomniac...

My book count is pathetic. :D

I probably read 5-6 "fun" novels a years. Most of my reading time is consumed by textbooks, which are long and boring and take forever to read and re-read (because just reading it once doesn't guarantee you'll remember it for the test ;)).

Anywhere from 30 to 50, depending on whether I'm taking the bus to work and what length the average novel is.

Last year I think I read about a dozen, not counting my own or books I was critting.

This year I've read 78, and my goal is 100. But I admit to being an average-to-fast reader, depending on the material. Some books, like an ice cream sandwich, are fast and easy to gobble down. Other books are like a five-course meal you have to take your time with to truly appreciate. :)

Probably about 5-20 novels. I read quickly (my fastest was three full length novels in a day), but I tend to take time thinking about the stories afterwards.

I have no idea how many short stories I read. Lots though.

150-180, depending on the year (and the books). Over the last decade or so, 90+ % of those I've been paid to read.

Hey, Willie, since you're a published author, I want to know if you'd like to read some of my work. I think I'm good, but I'd like your opinion. I want you to tell me if I have what it takes.

I read about three books a week, so that averages out to 150 books a year.

Good grief, this is making my book count seem so pitiful.

The only time I read is before bed, if I managed to have any settling-down time before I crash and push Z's. I usually read 15-20 books a year. Sometimes that includes books that I reread for one reason or another (usually because I'm too broke to spend $30 on a book, and too wary of the $5 books at the newsagents).

I read anywhere from 100 to 125 books a year.

Impressive... most impressive.

I've always been a slower reader and with that couple with writing, I only manage a book or two a month tops.

In the 6th grade we had a month long reading contest between teams of six students. One team was just 1 girl. And she beat everyone out. I think I remember her reading the Mist of Avalon in few days. Scary.
