My computer won't let me upload an avatar on this site. Well, this site won't let me, that is. I like one, but every time I put in the URL, the page loads, and it tells me that it failed to upload due to "failure writing temporary file."

Can someone please help me?!:flag:

Hi Elwolf,

I expect Lisa or another admin with server access will be around later to answer your question. In the meantime, does the avatar you're trying to upload fall under the avatar limits?

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 200 by 240 pixels or 73.8 KB (whichever is smaller).

I had something for this...
Don't you have to save it as an image first? Try going to the URL and right-clicking the pic and select 'save picture as...' from the dialog. The default (in windows) is to save it in your My Pictures folder. Then in AW use that pic instead of the URL address for your avvie.

Hope that helps. :)

I had this happen an av or two ago. The site would not take an url, so I had to upload from my computer. It's been touchy lately, upgrade stress, y'know. Just do as QuickWit says. The pic will be the same wherever it uploads from.

Thank you very much. The avvie is the same size as the one that I have now. I don't really have very much computer knowledge, so I sort of thought that I was doing something wrong. Thanks for the help!
