Anyone? For romance or women's fiction?

Anyone know? I mean, other than Harlequin (should have clarified sooner).

Tor does. I think I heard somewhere that Kensington does?

Other than that...

Kensington and Dorchester. I believe Avon will take an emailed query. Tor will take full subs, last I read, but they want strictly paranormal.

I wouldn't submit to Dorchester, though. They appear to be having financial problems and are paying their authors very, very late.

Besides Harlequin...Kensington, Siren-Bookstrand, Tor, Samhain, Avon, Wild Rose Press, Dorchester and pretty much all the smaller pubs/ebook publishers.

Yes, I've heard this, too, and should've mentioned it. Thanks. :)

I'm going to the NJRW conference this weekend. I'll bring back any "fresh" information I come across.

Middle of the road.
You can also query HQN Books-or could. Haven't checked them recently, though. They were relatively quick too.

Hopefully Susan will bring us back the 'freshest' info.

Tor does have a women's fiction imprint. (Had a very kind rejection there a short time ago)

The only thing I can add to this is you might look at Little Black Dress, Medallion, Mundania or Five Star/Thorndike. Also, to my knowledge, Samhain and Wild Rose don't venture into women's fiction, they are more romance focused.

I poked around to see what Tor was accepting. Thanks for pointing me that way even though it probably isn't a realistic deal for me. I have a paranormal idea but like everything I try it has a humorous angle. Anyone looking for THOSE?

Thanks for offering fresh news, Susan. Haven't had any for a while. Almost went to the NJ conf but decided I needed to focus on other things right now.

Annie, my books are humorous paranormal! To be honest, I think a lot of people don't write it so you never hear much about it except for the big names. But I know Berkley, Pocket (my pub), Kensington, Dorchester, NAL - all publish humorous paranormal.

What about Sourcebooks and Belle Books? I don't know that you need an agent for Sourcebooks and they have humorous paranormal as well, I think. Not sure about Tor - I think they are open to it as long as it is romance focused.

Thanks Jill!

I was with my agent for 14 years and that had pretty much run it's course. I've gotten one contract w/o an agent already and am not sure it won't be 'easier' to make a sale on my own than to impress an agent these days :)
Feel like I'm waking up from a coma and suddenly realizing how much I had let pass me by in the Romance-ish genre outside my own specialties (Inspirational and single title southern women's fic).

Siren-Bookstrand takes humorous paranormal. They accepted mine, at any rate.

Samhain had an antho for humorous paranormal stories, so it sounds like they're open to the idea as well. Neither e-publ requires an agent.
