Peachie - You can enter. I didn't really crit that much. That was more a note for those people (and there are several) whose queries I helped write.

I didn't see any rules about how finished the novel needed to be, so I thought I'd ask to be sure. Is it okay to send a query for a book we're still working on, since the contest is just about query letters anyway?

The contest sounds great. I'm still deliberating whether to enter, but probably won't in the end since I live in Canada. You might want to limit the contest to US residents, though, unless you want to risk having to pay some ridiculous postage fee to mail the prize overseas. Just a thought. I know, I was just booed by a bunch of writers.

Hey Tuuli, if you don't already know, shipping from the US to Canada is far, far cheaper than shipping from Canada to the US. Even shipping a book to New Zealand from here is only about $7.00 - and within the US it's around $3.50, so not a huge jump.

You're kidding? That's a much better deal. It costs more than that to mail within Canada. But then it's cheaper to fly to European than it is for me to fly to the east coast. :Huh:

So is the contest for YA only or any genre?

Not really: Artemis Fowl is a ruthless criminal mastermind. Greg (the Wimpy Kid) is never guilty for any of his many moral failings, and never feels bad about screwing people over. MG has a small number of anti-heroes
