This is an impossible question to answer; it depends on the user.
The thing to do is go look at as many as possible in person. Try the keyboard--this is VERY important. Look at text on the screen--also very important.
Once you find one or two you like, shop for price points. Tell the clerks you are shopping for price comparisons; you might get a deal (free RAM, or other upgrade, a discount).
Check prices online for the same model at BestBuy, Amazon--don't forget places like Staples, Office Depot, etc.
Consider an extended warranty. A screen repair can easily be a couple of hundred dollars.
Get as much RAM as possible; keep in mind it may be much cheaper to buy the ram yourself rather than at the store/w the laptop.
