I can't respond to private messages

That's because you're not human. I'm not kidding. The forum now has a message you have to answer to verify that you are human. Your profile does not have that.

To fix it, open the UserCP link in the top most blue bar. In the side-bar, click Edit Profile. The following screen should give you the option to put the "v" in the verification box. Save the Changes with the button at the bottom of the screen.
