I never got to watch Alias during its initial tv run, but I have been watching it on dvd at the rate of about a season a week, just finishing season 4 and, wow, I'm hooked. This is such a fun show I don't even know where to begin. The characters are wonderful and the stories they are in are fantastic. Jack Bristow is a wonderful study in what lengths a father will go to to protect a daughter. But Marshall, the tech guy, is my favorite. He always seems to save the day and is such a likeable guy who loves to talk. In one episode he is kidnapped to give the the bad guys a code and he ends up giving them the computer code for the video game pong, totally hysterical. Any other Alias fans out there.

Alias is one of my favorites, for the reasons you said, plus the fact that they have a woman in such a kick@ss role.

And it had Bradley Cooper long before anyone knew who he was.

This is my favorite TV show of all time. I thought the "first generation" characters in particular -- Jack, Sloane, Irina, etc. -- were incredibly brilliant, and this is my #1 DVD to pull out when I need some escapist fun.

JJ Abrams wins at life.

Although I got frustrated with the show often in its later seasons, I thought the second half of season two and all of three were the best--despite Bradley Cooper not being on the show at that point.

Here. Now.
This was one of my all-time faves. I loved the initial prickly relationship between Jack and Sydney. Lena Olin as Irina was amazing. Show got a bit too much toward the end, but still good.

Another big fan here, especially of all the pre-Sydney and Vaughn hookup episodes when it was just "will they or won't they". Then there were all of Syd's disguises...'nough said.

I think that's what disappointed me most about the final seasons--Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan had broken up in real life and couldn't stand being on screen together. They were always just talking on the phone. What a bummer.

I also loved the earlier seasons, but lost interest in the last two ones as the series focused more and more on all the Rambaldi hocus-pocus.
Alias is how I first heard about JJ Abrams and why I got interested in what he did later on.

Heh. Alias is the reason I will never, ever, watch anything JJ Abrams puts his fingers on.
I loved seasons 1&2, and even 3, which most fans seemed to hate. After that... whoa. Unbelievable storylines and retcon aside, all the backstage drama really ruined it for me. :(

I loved all the Rambaldi-stuff more than the romance aspects, and would like to have seen more done with the Amy Acker/Prophet Five storyline.

Ugh, I forgot Amy Acker was even on the show, that's how long it's been since I saw the later seasons.

Yeah, I was so happy Amy got a role on the show after "Angel" was canceled.

I think I have all of seasons 4 and 5 on tape (know I have all of 5..). I'd love to own it, but the box set was bloody expensive for a long time.
