YA short story

Could I possibly get a link to any markets that are accepting or willing to publish short stories?
I just finished my 12,500 word count YA story and I was wondering where I could send it off to. Thanks.

The only YA magazine that I can think of that would accept such a long story is Cicada (one of the Carus group mags) - and they'd call your story a novella. I think they usually publish one novella per issue.

Or you could possibly just call it a story (of whatever genre) and not YA, and try some of the other markets that take stories of that length.

Anonyouth:

I just noticed that you're under 18. There are actually lots more YA markets open to you as a minor -- many teen publications pride themselves on being "written by and for teens".

So, find a copy of the Children's Writer's and Illustrator's Market. Your school library may have a copy, and your public library definitely should. There's an entire section devoted to listing publications that are open to minors.

I don't have links but those places take novelete YA stories. Unfortunately the first one is closed, and that is a -by teens for teens- type of market, that would work well for you.
