I'd love to see Neil Gaiman's Sandman as a live action film (starring a young Johnny Depp, why not) and a Y: The Last Man movie.

How about you?

It's hard to say, since comics and cinema are two different media (in comic you can go back and forth while in cinema you are left at the rythm of 24 frames per minute) but I only hope Spielberg won't screw up the Tintin adaptation (which seems to be getting screwed-up adding a British rival, an American rival and a kindly editor...). I was reading last week about this comic book writer, I think her last name is Bechdel and wrote this autobiographic book that got many good reviews titled Fun House and it reminded me a lot about Persepolis and yeah, why can't we have adult comics? without adult meaning gratitious sex and violence?

I have read many good things about Y: The Last Man, I hope to read it someday

My fantasy that will never happen is an Impulse movie. In my mind it would be live-action but would have certain surreal CG elements - in the original comic (before it got cancelled and the character started appearing in other places), Impulse frequently had thought balloons filled only with pictures to illustrate the ways in which he was misinterpreting what people said. I would love to see that done in a really creative way on screen.

Also I think Etrigan/Jason Blood would be awesome.

Little Nemo in Slumberland (that Sony film doesn't count).

I heard rumors that a Y: The Last Man movie was already in the works, perhaps starring Shia LeBoof. This is all heresay, though, and I don't think anything has been announced, yet...

1602.

And I know this is technically manga, but I think a live-action Death Note film done by Americans could be quite successful. Sort of like the Ring was.

Shia turned down a draft the studio liked and is making them rewrite it.

I'm throwing my hat in for Transmetropolitan too. We can finally show the weird as hell, excitingly utopian/dystopian future that Warren Ellison put to paper.

And yes, I believe its both a dystopia and a utopia.

I love Fables! On one hand, I think it would be fantastic to see it as a movie. On the other hand, I am afraid of how terrible it can potentially be.

Strangers in Paradise by Terry Moore. At least the first few volumes.

The twisted evil part of me also wouldn't mind animated versions of Lenore by Roman Dirge and Squee's Wonderful Big Giant Book of Unspeakable Horrors by Jhonen Vasquez.

A Gen13 live action movie might actually be kind of fun, too.

I'd love to see about a ten-minute adaptation of Kurzman and Krigstein's 'Master Race' from EC's Impact #1.

I think any movie adaptation of Sandman done by any major company would be a tragic disappointment. It's so unlike an action/blockbuster movie that the attempt to force the story into that mold would break it.

I would love to see a Top Ten (by Alan Moore) movie. That would lend itself very well to being a comic--action storylines, movie-ready sassy characters, a love of sci-fi, superhero, and detective tropes, and the comic already has a great cinematic visual style.

I'm sick of comic book movies. But if I had to choose, I would like to see the Teen Titans. They've never made a Titans movie before, and I think it could be great, especially if they include Deathstroke.

You may be right, but I don't think it would necessarily have to be so awful. I think if Neil Gaiman had a lot of say in the production, it can turn out alright. But, I do agree that it's a difficult one to bring to the screen. So much potential for big time fail.

Still holding out for the ElfQuest movie, but I'm afraid they're going to screw it up royally.

Kingdom Come--if done well--could be the comic book movie to (temporarily) end comic book movies.
