Since this is Friday, and this forum hasn't been very active lately, I'll share a cute little story.
I got an e-mail yesterday morning from one of my best friends. One of her other friends had found a black lab or black lab mix puppy near some highway. The puppy had a broken leg. The person who found it thought that maybe some jerk had thrown it out a car window (of course, it's always hard to say about something like that).
Anyway, my friend sent me the e-mail asking if I knew anyone in my office who might want a puppy. I then forwarded it to everyone in my office (which is generally frowned upon unless such e-mails are sent for a good reason). One person immediately wanted to know about the dog. We put them in touch with the person who had the puppy. Another co-worker (J.) soon inquired about the dog as well but I had to tell her someone else had asked first. In the meantime, the dog had been taken to the vet and gotten the broken leg taken care of. The leg should mend in about four weeks according to the vet.
As it turned out, the person who first asked, after talking it over with his wife, and talking to the person who had the dog, decided to take the puppy.
The puppy now has a good home and should have a good life with people who wanted him and will take care of him. In this deal, everyone was really a winner. Even J. was glad that the dog was okay and had found a good home. For a "personal reward" for at least being interested in the dog, I brought J. a treat for her two cats this morning and we had a good time sharing our numerous cat stories.
