Hey gang, I'm up here in the Northeastern US and just found the forums (again) today, so I joined. I padded myself with many (many) posts in the "padding your posts" link so I can use a custom avatar.

I did so many (12) I think they'll have to boot me into the real forums for some fresh air and real posts.

I'm mom to three young boys (4, 7 and 10) and now am home full time to enjoy my guilt of never having a spotless home, for not homeschooling, and for hating my neighbors. My husband says I would make a great Catholic Italian - mia culpa. No wonder I love the Sopranos.

I love my husband. I really do! Amazing - especially for a jaded (but still young) divorcee from her highschool sweetheart. The one thing that's the best and worst simultaneously is his involvement in our family. He is so involved, it's a blessing AND a nightmare.

I had a middle class upbringing with a nonexistent family life and though I wasn't abused, I come with an entire line of Pierre Cardin baggage. Add the craziest fluctuating hormones, an assinine ex husband, unsupportive parents, high cost of living, and a bipolar son to the mix and it's enough to write about for a very long time.

I'm currently trying to decide on a few MAJOR issues in life - like whether to have another baby, and what to serve for dinner. I've forced the family into early retirement from 99% of meat eating and by god, they will love it.

I'm all over the place in writing - as with life. I hope to leave my mark in greeting cards, novels, short fiction, screenwriting, children's writing, essays and more.

I have had a fairly successful rate of acceptance in non-fic parenting articles, but I quickly decided interviewing and articles just aren't for me - especially with kids at home and especially because I prefer to write when I am passionate, and fix it later - I hate waiting on queries so long I lose my will to do the piece.

So that's the long short version of me.

.

Gina, you sound like quite a young woman! I think we'll get along quite well. :) I love your writing style already!

No harm done in the "Pad Your Posts" thread -- I think many of us have started over there. I'm very glad you came to intriduce yourself though.

You sound like me. Many writers tend to stick with one or the other, but I love trying all of these. Maybe we can encourage each other to reach for these goals!

Behind you!
Wonderful to have you join us, Gina. I'll watch the kids while you catch a shower and a nap, OK?

Maryn, who misses her kids' friends (who grew up and therefore never come over to play!)
