I wrote a Young Adult novel for which I got critiques from young adult, teen and adult readers, who said it was pretty good (funny, keeps you turning the pages, etc). After I finished revising (or so I thought) and sent it to agents, they have all turned it down. I've heard among the reasons for rejection that the beginning didn't grab them. Is there a beta reader out there willing to help me out? If so, thanks in advance!
PS I'm not certain how beta readers are different from standard critiques, excuse my ignorance, so I don't know what to expect.
