As some of you know I've been in communication with a producer. He recently signed up with an independant production company that is a partner to a reputable management company.

He's really taken me by the hand and has been reading several of my scripts. Today I got development notes from him. He wants me to rework a couple of my scripts, tweak the characters and what not so he can pitch me to the management company for possible representation.

This is a huge gift of his time, he spends hours every week on my work and really believes in me. I really hope I get representation through this, but even if I don't, this has been a wonderful event in my writing career.

This probably belongs in goals and accomplishments but I figure it has more merit here since it's more relevant here than anywhere else.

Anyway, just wanted to share my good news. It's all very exciting.

Thank you, both. Nice thing is the notes he's giving me is really improving my stories and making them more sellable. It's interesting talking to someone on the other side about them.

It's funny how no matter how much you learn you feel there is always more. I can't remember who said it, but it was something along the lines of, 'the more you know, the more you realize how little you know.' I don't know a lot, but the more I do learn, that's definitely how I feel.

It's obvious that you've reached a pretty good level, and now you're getting that little bit of help, which in fairness you deserve for all the hard work you put in, to propel you to that next step.

It's pretty cool and a very encouraging story for those of us further down the hill.

I hear you on that Klazart. Just as I get pretty confident in my writing skills I learn a new technique that just floors me and I start thinking "just how much don't I know?" The answer is obviously a lot. And it will always be a lot. But in a way that's really awesome because there's always something to strive for.

Thanks. :) Even if they don't get produced, if I can get representation I have a much higher chance of getting gigs based on my writing and the better it is, the more likely I'll be hired.

Thanks everyone. Today I will be reworking that script, he wants relatively minor changes which is nice but they will shift some of the focus of the story and amp it up which will be fantastic. Anything to make it more sellable.

Woot! Always wonderful when someone believes in you and your work. I hope it goes from strength to strength. :)

That is fantastic. I also see by your signature that you are writing novels as well.

It's great to see author focus on scriptwriting. I think sometimes people limit themselves in their creative writing. It's good to see others branching into other fields. After all, writing is writing.

Thanks Chris, onward and upward right?

Hi Jake, I actually began in the novel section and then it was suggested that I branch out and I did. Ironically enough the money I've made on writing has mainly been through scriptwriting. Guess that's what you get out of this crazy life. :)

I also personally feel you that can earn money through script writing.
unless I think if your novel is a best seller writing is not a lucurative profession . I feel most of the writers earn money from different sources like being a web writer , technical writer..

Unfortunately writing in general isn't very lucrative, only like 3% of all pro writers make over 100k a year.

Thanks Derek :D. I am very excited even though it does involve the dreaded re-writing.
