A question has been bugging me ever since I decided that I was getting a Mac.
Should I get Final Cut Express, or Final Cut Studio?
I have been filmmaking for roughly two to three years, and I am well experienced in the lines of editing and post production. I don't deem myself to be a professional, however, the things I want to do are quite extravagant.
With Final Cut Express, you get a 'Semi Pro' package, which only comes with that software exclusivley. There are some limitations to what you can do on Final Cut Experess, but nothing that is really that drastic.
Final Cut Studio, however, is hardcore stuff. It comes with a wide array of programs suich as Soundtrack, GarageBand, Motion and a program called Colour, which is awesome. This seems to be for the hardcore editor, who really 'knows his onions' so to speak.
Final Cut Express: £116
Final Cut Studio: £699
I am thinking of getting Express first, then upgrading if I don't like it that much. And if I do like it, then it's no loss
Any suggestions?
