Lots of people query multiple books at the same time. I don't think I'd query the same agency with the different books at the same time, but I see no problem with sending out queries for both books at the same time.

Personally my top choice agents would be those who might ultimately represent both books, of course. If you get an offer for one, show them the other one as book 2 down the road after book 1 is revised and on sub.

I don't see why you shouldn't query both to different agencies at the same time. You never know which might get picked up first.

Several folks on this board have queried two different books at the same time with success, so if you're ready with book two, go ahead and send it out. I'd skip the agents who are already reading your stuff (and any you've queried recently with that book), and if they pass, wait a few months before you requery with book two. (I've heard agents say wait one-three months, but three is what I see most often).

If you happen to have two agents make you an offer on two different books, you just treat it the same as if two agents offered on the same book. Weight the pros and con, see which agent you click with and pick one. And they'd probably be thrilled to find out you have a second book ready to go.

Go ahead and query it. I queried three novels at once, and was surprised by which one got me an agent first.
