I'll never understand the appeal of those Romero films...

The first and last zombie movie I've seen was "I Am Legend". I don't even know if it counts, but it was simply THE WORST movie I've ever wasted my time on.

I still have nightmares about those things shaking in the water over the deer...*chills*. Plus that dog looks like my dog....:(

Oh, wait, I did see that parody one, Shawn of the Dead...it was funny.

Try 28 Days Later. I really enjoyed that one and it took a step away from the Romero films.

And they didn't include Army of Darkness because it's demonic posession, they have the requirements for the ones that made the list right on the first page.

Just confirmed to me how many bad zombie films have been made. Hated most of those on the list.

Lessee... without even looking at the list...and in no particular order...

Night of the Living Dead
Night of the Living Dead (remake)
Return of the Living Dead (the unrated one with Linnea Quigley)
Dawn of the Dead
Dawn of the Dead (remake)
Land of the Dead
Shaun of the Dead
28 Days Later
The Dead Hate the Living (if only for the ending)
The Night Stalker (movie, not either TV series; Note: This one probably doesn;t really count as a zombie movie)
The Night Strangler (this one might not count either, but the villain is kind of the walking dead)
I Am Legend
The Omega Man
The Last Man on Earth
House of the Dead (that Rob Zombie movie which was actually pretty good)
Resident Evil
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Resident Evil: Extinction
Isle of the Living Dead

Good Lord, I spend way too much time watching zombie movies (and you don;t even want to go into the list of zombie books I've read; I think Brian Keene should pay me royalties).

Hey, how'd I miss this thread?!!

I dig all things Zombie.

I take issue with calling 28 Days a 'zombie' film. However, I shan't get all zombie fanboy-y on a technicality.:)

Good list, always room for improvement.

ok... had a brainfart...

One of the weirdest I own would have to be 'Vampire Hunters' ... sorta zombie/ vampire movie from China.

Got hopping zombies everywhere

oh... if you haven't seen it, 'Fido' is hilarious :D

[REC] Is a -fantastic- Spanish zombie film that was horribly bastardized by Hollywood. It's sequel, [REC] 2 is also quite good. There are subtitled versions floating around, too. I highly encourage people to check them out. :D

Recently caught The Dead Set. British TV mini-series about contestants on Big Brother who are trapped in the house by a zombie plague.

Quite good, except that the shaky camera angles and washed out color palette is almost, if not, cliche now.

28 Days Later and its sequel, 28 Weeks Later, are no where near zombie films. Zombies are undead. The rage virus in these films doesn't even come close to what I consider a zombie. Great movies, both, but still not zombies.

As for Zombieland... oh yeah. I love it so much. I haven't been this happy with a zombie film since I was a kid.

Haven't looked at the list yet, but alongside the classic Romero films (yeah, actually, I *do* like them), I have to add Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead to my list of best zombie movies.

I gotta agree that while 28 Days Later is a pretty great flick, on reflection, yeah, they're not dead. So not technically zombie movies. I wonder if The Serpent and The Rainbow is on the list. *goes to look*

Oh, yes, I was very pleasantly surprised with Zombieland. That one's got potential for the favorites list, in my book.

Yeah, didn't say 28 days later was a zombie film but it does hit that vein and I think it and its sequel do a rather good job at it.

I'm getting geared up for Zombieland 2. :) 2011, y'all. That's what I'm hearing, anyway. May or may not be correct, but I hear we'll see Zombieland 2 next year sometime.

Feckin' Awesome.

Speaking of zombies...

I posted this *months* ago people. If anything's rising from the dead and wandering around, this qualifies.

Did someone say braaaaaains??

Zombieland was cute, but more of a rom-com, imo. I love the old Romeros, but the mere mention of 28 Days Later makes me shudder.

I'm a huge zombie fan. I love Romero's work. I actually own most of the movies on the list. Zeder is the only one I've never heard of.

There were two movies on the list that I don't think should be there. The first is 28 Days Later. It's a great film, but not a zombie film. It's an infection film. The second is Deadgirl. That movie was absolute garbage. I have no idea how someone could place it on a top 20 list, let alone at number six.

I was surprised that Resident Evil, Dead and Breakfast, and Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things didn't make the list.

Man, why don't you goose-step on down to the women and children over there and give them your little power trip, because they may be impressed by it, asshole!*

Chill, it's a movie quote
