I remember doing this like it happened yesterday. I was doing BIC so Uncle Jim would disapprove of the interruption I'm sure, but it really evoked a response in me. Do you have moments like this?

To respond to my own question sort of: I had my most severe reaction to this line, it's internal dialogue.
I started bawling, I mean uncontrollably, and I kicked this table I had spent two days refinishing into the ceiling. I've gotten so much out of writing my memoirs, it's amazing.

Yes, I have had moments of writing memoirs all the time. I believe that when we write however imaginative it is, remains a piece of us and reflects our life on the outside, therefore this type of writing however written is always personal to us and our own experiences and I am also referring to other type of writing which is not categorised as memoir.

Here, describing the sounds and smells in jail.
Dark, mournful, musky cries of lives that had spun out of control somehow and now shared too little space.

Thank you guys. I had a major relapse with the flu and haven't been able to fully appreciate your answers. Just dropped in to let you know.
I totally have been there done that. Not kicked a table into the ceiling...maybe thrown my phone across the room once... but yeah. I did the teary-eyed "realization" moment in writing one of my stories about my Dad. It was supposed to be a funny story about how much he tends to hurt himself and how clumsy he is. (I'm assuming that's where I get it from.) But at the end, I had one of those realizations that suddenly hit me and it was so hard not to start bawling at my desk... which would have sucked because it totally would have given away that I was goofing off at work writing memoirs instead of working. eek.
come to think of it, I think I might post it for feedback soon. But yeah. Those moments are hard, but good. But really hard sometimes.
