Well, it isn't bad. But if I saw the name Syd Lee on a book my first thought would actually be "pen name." That might just be me, though. :) I would personally go with Sydney. I'm liking Sydney Lee.

I personally don't know about the submission thing. My nickname is Race and I wouldn't sign anything as Race, but then Rachel is a common name.

Poetoffice is right -- don't worry about your pen name at this stage. You can talk it over with your agent later and find out what would work best. Getting attached to a pen name too early can result in a lot of disappointment when your agent or editor vetoes your first choice.

Thank you guys!

Rachel~ Sydney Lee sounds cute :D
Poet and Claudia~ Thanks! I'll have to keep that in mind. Adding pen name to title as replaceable, gotcha :)

As to the title... why not "When Pretty Girls Cry"?

Just 4 words. :D

Well one of the MC's biggest problems is not being able to stand seeing girls cry and thinking all crying girls are ugly lol
I kind of feel like "When Pretty Girls Cry" makes the book seem girly? It has a male narrator XD

If I didn't want to seem girly, I would get rid of the word "pretty" completely, I think. I Hate When Girls Cry would be better, maybe. *thinks* We'll find something. ;)

Hmm I'm liking I Hate When Girls Cry. I had the pretty in there because the MC is, for lack of a better word, a manwhore. Ish. He's good guy though :D

All right, officially changed to I Hate When Girls Cry lol I just realized one of the girls isn't supposed to be very pretty anyway! But it's not as wordy. Thanks! :D

Oh, and I totally overhyped my MC. He's more of a horny robot. I mean he gets it, but he doesn't respect women. Whatever lol

Anyways, thanks!!

I'm in the UK and I guess you're in the USA. Here, Sidney or Sydney is very much a male name and also quite an old-fashioned one.

If I saw the name on the cover of a book, my first assumption would be a fairly elderly man.

This may not be relevant to you and your editors, but I thought I'd mention it.

I love the name Sydney. Sydney Lee is awesome. Syd, not so much - reminds me of a somewhat creepy middle-aged man. No offense, haha.
