Subject title changing

How do I change the subject title after-posting? I tried it twice, but while the new title appears in Preview and even when the post appears after the submission, it still persists in the actual thread.

That used to bewilder me a lot, too-- then I realized it was a moderator function; we can edit the subject line in the "edit thread" option, but it appears others can't. If you need a subject changed, just PM a mod and we'll be happy to do it for you.

Okay, it popped up just now, another q wonders me.

In my thread "Caricatures and Caricaturists" I didn't add the smiley to the subject. How did it make its way into it?? Wonder!...
