I've been utterly and completely gripped by a kind of creative insanity just pouring out on the page today. I've written for six hours straight. I'm emotionally exhausted and I have no idea if what I've written will still be good tomorrow... but it feels great.

It's like I've been crazy. It was total focus. The rest of the world and the rest of my needs just fell a way. Nothing else but my characters, my scenario and the structures of sentences existed.

It's been a truly magical experience. I can hardly write this. I'm so euphoric at the moment. I have one of those, "how do you know if you're crazy" moments now.

I'm going to need a stiff drink and some food now. ... he he ... I'm babbling now.

How do you know if you're crazy?

Well...you're a writer; that says a lot.

I live for those times. If that's crazy, then call the paramedics, I'm about to go Britney, 'cause I fookin' love it!

Oh, love that feeling of the story pouring out of my brain onto the screen. When you get done and realize how many words you've written, it's amazing.

Usually they hold up too. It's the stuff I have to force myself to write that end's up getting deleted.

Heh. Had a great writing day yesterday. Wrote about 3k words on a new story idea that I had, working by the seat of my pants rather than from an outline like I normally do. It was gettin' pretty fun and steamy.

Got up this AM and it was gone. Not a trace. I was sure I'd just named it incorrectly, but there isn't a Word document on my system with that date. And since I was working without an outline...

*sigh*

Oh damn, sorry. Lost my "silk" story today with a similar screw up. Oh well, it wasn't going well anyway.

Did you dream you wrote it? I do that, sometimes.

No, alas, it was during the day - no dream there.

A interrupted me with a domain name emergency - lol - and...I don't know what I did. Something, obviously. I'm sure I saved it, but must have tossed it when I was tidying something else up.

The problem, of course, is that when I start over I will never be sure which version was better!

Apart from one easy to fix logical error it looks good. I've printed it and I'll read it tonight before bed.

It was a very emotionally gripping and important piece of the story of a man's mind going. So the power of it had to be very intense and it had to feel real and honest.
