Has anyone who's read Edith Wharton's The Buccaneers say the book is a romance novel, a "novel of marriage" or just a "Victorian novel"? What genre is it, exactly?

I heart Edith Wharton :) I don't know enough about the possible genres to have an opinion on her work. But I love her.
