How much blood would it take to fill a bathtub?

My vampire wants to do an Elizabeth Bathory and I've already written the scene. I just need to know so I can get every detail right.

well, it takes about 40 gallons to get a bathtub to the minimum bathing level, which is considerably less than actually filling it.

The adult human has about 4 liters of blood. Or slightly less than a gallon. So to fill a normal sized bathtub, we're talking around 100 people.

Did a tiny bit of research...which leads me to believe a bathtub can be filled with about forty gallons. Your character will probably want to use a below-standard size tub, or mix the blood with water (which makes rinsing the stuff off much easier, probably).

I didn't know it was that many. I was so anticipating a glorious blood bath. I will have to settle for a mere birdbath. Sigh.

How about an eighteenth century tub?

It has to be human. My vampires don't drink animal blood and it's set in the eighteenth century.

I was talking about the one person at a time sort of tub, which really hasn't changed much in size over the course of history. If its a non standard size, remember that there are about 7 and half gallons per cubic foot.

Maybe your vampire is really fat and takes up more of the volume?

Or maybe its a blood-sponge bath?
