Where opinions have a distinct aroma.
Where have all the oldies gone?
The regulars of yesteryear?
My shadows of smiling recognition?
My equals?
My own self as words across a written ocean?
Where?

Hi Kie,
Welcome back.
I think they're probably still here but have gone into 'stealth mode.'
A self imposed exile or taking a back seat to allow the forum to evolve.

A bit of a Darwinian type theory but who knows perhaps it's true?
God forbid that they are, or have become bored with it or that boredom is part of the process of evolution.

There, a theory that features God and Darwin!
Maybe I'll write a poem about it before I too fade away.

Well, you know... out with the old, in with the new. Actually I think it's just the times, they are a-changing. *grin* No, but seriously, you know how it goes: We leave, we return, we frequent, then depart, us the fickle of heart - we hold no allegiance, but to the art.

Hi Kie,

I've been in 'stealth' mode myself recently--more lurking than participating. I suspect that's true for a lot of us.

Like Rivana said (and beautifully phrased, too):
We leave, we return, we frequent, then depart, us the fickle of heart - we hold no allegiance, but to the art.

Old trees bear new blooms.
The spring of yonderyear,
more fresh than wistful
Branch and twig
crown the same sky.

Welcome back, mate. It's good to see you.

For myself, all I can say is that the muse and I have been avoiding each other.

Not everyone likes the horse and buggy. Many prefer fast cars that get you there in a hurry.

What will poetry be like 500, 1,000 years from now when people are born, raised and die
in space. Times change. The poem changes with it.

I've been missing in action, as well, and missing the community here. And when I think why I haven't been posting, I'd say I've no excuse. Although starting a new book does take up a lot of brain space--so maybe I do have an excuse? Can only do one thing at a time?
