Word not opening! Help!

I was using open office but didn't like it and so borrowed Microsoft office 2000 and installed that. All was good. Until last night, when I decided that Open Office , being redundant, didn't need to be on the PC and so I uninstalled it. Now Word will not open.

I'm getting the message: This application must be installed to run. Please run set-up from the location where you originally installed the application.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled office 2000 with no luck and also tried to repair it. My computer is xp .

Help!

Is the version of Office 2000 a full version or an upgrade? My solution is for you to go to the store and buy your own copy, a full copy and install it.

Is it a copy of the software or the original disk?

One could experiment by putting Open Office back on your PC.

You do know it's illegal to "borrow" a copy of someone's software, right?

As far as I know, since she's not running the software on her computer, then it's not illegal to have it on mine.

Whether it's illegal or not is not my issue.
