Since the AW upgrade, all of AW runs like a tortoise and every morning my malware program has found geral downloaders on my computer. Not saying they are coming from AW, but as long as I don't cruise the AW forums I don't get the malware. I use IE to navigate AW and would rather use mozilla, but, all of AW is so tiny on mozilla that I can't read anything. All text is smaller than fine print and blurry. No other website I go to using IE lags either.

Since IE, and not AW, could be the source of the downloaders that are getting on my computer, how do I get mozilla and AW to work together so that I can use it instead of IE? I'm not computer technically minded, so any suggestions need an instruction guide please, or... you know... plain English.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I can't help you, because I am computer challenged also. Just popped in to say I am using Firefox and everything looks the same as it did on IE. So there is hope. One of the techies will help you, I'm sure.

It is absolutely not coming from AW.

Check the Preferences on FireFox, (is that what you mean by Mozilla?) and set the default font size to something large, and click the box that says, roughly, "use my fonts and not the Website choices."

I don't think that's it. I have mine set to have websites choose the font and don't have any problem with AW and I'm using Firefox.

I'd start with something even more basic. tlblack, have you tried using the zoom in, zoom out function? You can do that by holding down Ctrl - Windows logo key, and either the plus or minus symbol at the same time.

Yes, Medievialist it's Firefox. The only preference on the main page is for Google search.

I found how to zoom in and out alleycat.

Thank you both for the help.

As for the geral downloaders, I can now use Firefox while I'm on my computer and see if they still show up on my malware scan. Thanks again for your help.

You don't get off that easy!

We're putting you in charge of tracking down the malware downloaders.

I'm not sure where they are coming from. (which I'm sure is quite obvious, lol) I know that every time I turn around IE is doing something hinky so I figured they are getting on my computer through it. The only thing that made me wonder about those perhaps having any connection whatsoever to do with AW was the amount of lag that was suddenly associated with IE and AW after the upgrade last weekend. Now that I can see AW on Firefox, there is no more lag, but every morning for the last week, I've had six Geral downloaders found by my malware program, where before any upgrade to AW, it found only the usual tracking cookies. I'm glad I can now use Firefox instead of IE for everything. Hopefully that will keep the downloaders away.

Thanks again for your help.

That went well.

One time a female friend of mine and I were looking up something on the 'net. I did a search and found a site that might have what we were looking for. My friend was standing right behind me (this was the office). I clicked the link.

Uh, oh. That's not really the kind of kitty cat (or whatever we were looking for) we had in mind.

Me: "I didn't mean to bring that up."
Her: "Sure."
Me: "I didn't!"
Her: "Sureeeeee. I'm reporting you for sexual harassment."

Luckily, it was one of my best friends and she had the fun of teasing me.

 "I taut I saw a porny-tat..."

Goodness, I'm so inexperienced I had to google Geral. :D

Better use a second malware hunter to be certain of getting it all out. The buggers probably breed in the secret recesses of your hard drive.

What maleware scanner are you using? Some are worse than any "Maleware" they happen to find, since they themselves are maleweare.
