In my experience, cowboys only were faded and worn out jeans in the movies. The real ones are in clean, pressed, and starched Wranglers with a Stetson (Resistol is OK too) or ball cap. When the get too faded or any holes they get tossed.

That is absolutely true. I work with a couple of cowboys and their shirts are starched too.

I prefer flannel sheets, though I suppose those are part cotton. Of course, one of the reasons I prefer flannel is that it's friggin' cold where I live. We've been mid 30s to low 40s every night for the last two weeks.
